About the 100 Business Incubator

As part of the 100 Black Men of London’s Economic Development and Leadership drive, we are launching a new Tech Start-up Business Incubator Programme focused on helping black entrepreneurs to build profitable, scalable and sustainable businesses within our community.

Whilst consumer spending by Black men, women and youths is high referable to the net wealth of our community, the level of Black owned businesses producing products & services and then helping to retain the wealth generated within the Black community remains historically low.

Our big aim is to transform the approach to business entrepreneurship and business investment in the Black community, and particularly to grow our young people into successful wealth creating serial entrepreneurs.

This is a brand new programme for the 100, and we are inviting entrepreneurs and investors to participate in this new venture.

What is an Incubator?

An Incubator is a programme through which an organisation helps, guides, and supports entrepreneurs to grow their start-up businesses. It typically involves mentoring, training, logistical or admin support, access to investors, and seed funding provided to those businesses, sometimes in return for an equity stake.

How will the 100 Business Incubator Work?

Our Incubator is a 13-week programme.

Throughout that 13-week period, each start-up participating in this programme will benefit from:
  • £1,000 initial funding payment
  • Intensive 2 Day Mindframe Training Workshop to help entrepreneurs understand and embrace the mindset of a successful start-up entrepreneur
  • Allocated an experienced, hands-on business mentor to work with the entrepreneurs throughout the 13-week programme to help them analyse, test and prove the validity of idea and get their business off the ground.
  • Business Workshop Training (once the core training needs of the entrepreneurs have been identified)
  • Access to potential investors
  • Support with writing a Business Plan
  • Participation in Final Presentation Day for the purpose of attracting seed round funding

What does it mean to be a Champion in the programme?

To be an early investor, you must donate a minimum of £250 to our programme. (If you wish to donate a lesser amount, you still can, you just won’t formally be an early investor).

You will be donating money towards the costs of running the programme. In return for that donation, you will be allocated a secure invitation to the final Presentation Day of the programme, which is when all the businesses on the programme will present their business plans to the audience and seek formal investment on specified terms.

As an early investor, you will have a first prior option (before other investors) to formally buy equity in any of the businesses that present on the day. You will also receive better rates than other investors that attend (at a level to be confirmed depending on the specific valuation of the business you invest in).

Please complete the form to notify us of your wish to become an early investor and we’ll be in contact with you to give you further details.

All donations are very gratefully received and we will definitely acknowledge your support.
